Seasons are mother nature’s way of keeping us on our toes. All of my trees can be viewed as a metaphor: that we have our roots but then we branch out, taking our various paths toward the sky. The braided trunk of the trees evoke life’s many twists and turns. With the seasons, this is illustrated a step further by the lyrical story of the birds in the piece: there are no birds in Winter, 3 baby birds in Spring, 3 grown-up birds in Summer, and the last single bird flying away in Fall.
